12:8 Leadership Camp

I have taken a few weeks break from the cyber world after a hectic weeks of GC and then speaking in Hope KS camp.

Last weekend was a blasting week as 110 CLs and potential CLs from Polydins gathered for a leadership camp. We are back to Standfields Residence Hall at Mount Vernon Road.

This camp is very different from the past few leadership camp. We had 7 experiential activities and 2 teachings. We evaluated among the leaders that Polydins peeps learn more through experiential learnings. After the activities, we did facilitation and debriefing. Many leadership lesson can be learnt and caught in different activities.




















Few acitivities caught my attention...

a) Dream for the stars.... Polydins peeps really can dream and have big vision. I like this segment because leaders should be visionary. We don't lead out of duty but we lead out of vision. The amazing thing was all the peeps dream under the hot sun at Henderson wave. It was a spiritual moment where we look up to the sky where there is no limit. We started to dream what God can do if we don't limit him.

b) Sling Shot... Every peep will have a chance to face a group of 20 people and speak of their vision. To confront their fear of public speaking. Personally, I was really blessed and challenged when I heard the peeps speaks of their conviction of what God can do in their lives and campuses and camps. This segment is abt public speaking. We got a gal from Toast Master to share some basic public speaking skills nuggets. It's helpful for all CLs and PCLs. 3 nuggets to good speech : Purpose, Structure and Seasonings. So Practice, Practice, Practice!



c) Cafeteria.... This segment is abt strategic and creative thinking. Every group of 5 are given an item to sell. All are given a simple item and every peep needs to come out a business plan on how to market the item to the targeted group of people and project the avenue. This leads to CG growth. CL and their peep to think how to grow their CG within certain month and reach certain quantity and quality.




















There are 4 others experiential learnings where very helpful. We take home many leadership lessons and so to apply to our CG and bring our CG to a newer level of growth and breakthrough!

Rom 12:8 " ....if it is leadership, let him govern diligently,.."
